Current Projects

Here are some projects, currently “under the knife” at Nautilus Tuning.

2004 Honda VTX 1300C – Got a hold of another 1300, it runs but it sat outside awaiting repair from a nasty spill so there is a bit of rust. Previous owner hit a curb at speed, in the dark, in the rain. So the front wheel was damaged beyond repair, tank dented, handlebars bent and headlight destroyed. I’m going to tear it down and take off as much “unneeded” parts as possible, maybe building it back as a sort of bobber/cafe racer. The 1300 is a bit big for the typical builds like that so I’m just going to see how it goes…

1970 Honda CT90 – completely disassembled. Basically bought as a basket case, with engine covers missing, locked up cylinder, and much rust. Working on engine first, it needs new rings, honed cylinder, new bearings throughout, new gaskets, thorough testing and assembly before moving on to the rest of the bike. If you would like to see some details on the CT90, you can read this page, this forum, or this wiki entry.

1981 Chevy Camaro V6 – waiting it’s turn. Rescued from the weeds at a friend’s house. Main job was to get it back on the road to stop the deterioration. At some point there will be a complete restoration; for now it needs interior work (floorboard, headliner, carpet, trim) and an engine transplant (Chevy 350 V8).
